Day to Day

Making the most out of everyday moments

Around the House

Absolutely ANYTHING can be a learning opportunity.

We all like to live in an organized home, so sooner or later you've got to clean. Wait until the kids go to bed OR:

Include your child in everyday tasks that are fun for you and him. Be patient with his efforts. It takes time to master a new skill.

Encourage your child to help with the laundry by separating the lights and darks or transferring items from the washer to the dryer.

Include your child in chores like dusting or loading the dishwasher. You could say something like this to a preschooler, "Will you please get me the Pledge? It's under the sink in a yellow spray can."

Why To?

Modeling cheerful work is spiritual development. Having an independent child in just a few years will be PRICELESS!

At Before5, we are passionate about helping you understand how your child grows and develops – especially in the first five years, which is when the really important learning happens.
