For A Rainy Day
It’s easy to pop in a video to keep your child occupied on a rainy day; but here are some ideas that go much further to foster their development.

On a warm, rainy day jump in puddles, or make paper boats and float them in the water from the downspout.
Sing rain songs — “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”; “Rain Rain Go Away Come Again Another Day”.
Place your infant in front of the window so he can see and hear the rain.
Talk to him about what he hears and sees.
Use rain to help develop your child’s senses. Smell the outside air during the rain. Listen to the sound the rain makes hitting the sidewalk, the trees, the window, and the roof. How does the rain feel when it hits your hand or your face? What does the sky look like?
Talk to your child about why it rains and how it benefits the earth, people, plants, and animals.
